How Cloud Works and Its Application to Business

In the past, we were all still unfamiliar with technological innovations, especially those related to data storage because we were still afraid about the security so that for years we kept relying on cabinets and storage shelves. Over time, the closet was no longer enough to store data, forcing us to switch to the Cloud.

Cloud is a computing power management process that works using internet technology to run programs through inter-connected computers at the same time. Simply put, Cloud means storing and accessing data and programs over the internet from a different location or using a computer from our computers hard drive.

How Does the Cloud Work?

Just like computers, Cloud has the concept of three layers of computing although technically the contents are different. In Cloud Computing, the infrastructure components are servers, storage media, and bandwidth provided by the provider. This way, users can access the resource as if it were installed in its place.

The platform layer is a web browser device that is used to create, to test, and to deploy web applications. However, software layer is not a desktop-based application. It uses the web that can use any web browser.

Cloud is known as a broadband network, in which the internet is the central server in managing data. This method makes it easier for users to be able to login to the internet so they can access programs or applications anywhere and anytime without having to install them first

Data storage media as well as instructions from users are stored virtually so that computer memory is not burdened because it can be adjusted according to user needs. For banking, using Cloud is the right thing because of its scalable nature, making it easier to process and to manage data related to payments and transactions. Afterward, the instructions used by the user are continued to the application server until it is received by the server and, subsequently, the data will be processed and the user will be presented with the page that was previously instructed.

Application of Cloud in Businesses

Google Drive which integrates data globally, without having to download software is an example of a cloud working system. Users only need an internet network connection to control the data stored in Google Drive.

Even the use of the cloud can now be found in the health world as a long-distance communication tool between health workers and patients also as an intermediary media for transferring medical data from one location to another.

The government sector has also implemented cloud computing, such as the BMKG info application. This application serves to monitor the weather, lightning data, satellite imagery, and so on. This BMKG info uses a Private Cloud service owned by the government.

TelkomMetra, as a company under the auspices of the Telkom Group, has cloud solutions from its subsidiaries, namely Telkomsigma and Telkomtelstra. Telkomsigma provides a cloud computing service called FLOU Cloud. Global-scale capabilities reliably deployed through a secure and centralized infrastructure support, FLOU Cloud is an essential platform that provides industry players with convenience, speed, and flexibility to be able to adapt and improve business scalability.

In addition, cloud architecture requires a lot of bandwidth to run its applications. To answer these challenges, Telkomtelstra has SD-WAN technology that can help companies perform bandwidth efficiency with lower maintenance costs without sending technicians when troubleshooting occurs. So that the application of the cloud remains ideal for companies that manage many branches with an archipelagic geographical location such as in Indonesia.

Well, have you known and understood further what and how cloud works and is applied in businesses? Therefore, its time to surf with digital transformation and continue to apply digitization to our business and even our daily lives to be effective and efficient. Take it easy, technology still requires human power as a controller. Humans will be much more helped by this technology.
